Today is for adventures.

Today is for adventures.

Okay, #motivationmonday comin’ at ya! This past weekend I couldn’t help but feel an indescribable gratefulness for being alive. I watched a short video Saturday morning as I was lazily laying in bed a little longer than I normally do.. the message was basically this.. “Today, don’t sit around in bed or on your couch. Don’t waste time staring out the window at the family of crows outside.. Life is for adventures. It’s for seeing NEW things and exploring. GET OUT THERE and explore.” I became so present to life being an adventure.. that within a few minutes I had jumped out of bed, grabbed Taya and hopped in the car. I didn’t even know exactly where I was going to go, but I had a few ideas. We ended up about an hour out of town at a park with trails along a river.. somewhere I haven’t been before. It was raining, and it was so refreshing! I never would have that memory if it wasn’t for watching that video that morning. And I felt so alive!!

So I want to give that to you.. When you find yourself feeling “lazy” or “tired” maybe taking a nap or having a “lazy day” isn’t always the answer. Create for yourself the feeling of adventure and spontaneity and try to see as many new things as possible that day instead! Then see how long you feel tired for.. There are real studies that have actually proven the health benefits (emotional and physical) for us and our pets with just simply being exposed to natural light. Don’t close yourself off and stay inside. Don’t live life small. Don’t let you (or your dogs) memories be ones that are only of that same trail or street you walk or drive on every day. And that show on netflix.. it can wait, too.

Just to be clear I am not bashing netflix and chill.. This is just simply a new approach I am taking on in my life and wanted to share it with you in hopes it could motivate you to maybe do the same… Stare at the crows if you like. Lay in bed if you must. Just know you could be out there in the fresh air.. making memories.. literally improving your quality of life, and affirming it. That’s what I will be doing. 😉

Some pictures of Taya on our adventure this weekend..! 🙂
